10/08/2018.- For the second consecutive year, the Advertising Production Conference will be held on 18th and 19th October in Valladolid, organised by the Asociación de Productoras de Cine Publicitario (APCP), which brings together the main production companies in Spain, along with Valladolid City Council and Valladolid Film Office, in collaboration with the International Film Festival (SEMINCI) as part of the festival programme.
The conference will begin on 17th October with a scouting tour of the various locations in Valladolid where filming is possible. On 18th October, there will be a round table session and interviews, attended by a very large group of professionals from the sector. The first session will feature producer Peter Welter Soler from Fresco Film, known for his work on Game of Thrones, Terminator 6 and Snatch, location manager Yanira de Armas Tosco from Sur Film, who has worked on Jason Bourne 5, Allied, Solo: A Star Wars Story and Wonder Woman, and Denis Pedregosa, co-founder of Babieka Films, known for his work on Blade Runner 2045, Black Mirror and Exodus.
In the next session, directors of international production associations Matt Miller (president and CEO of AICP, USA) and Julien Pasquier (president of APFP, France) will come together for a discussion. The third round table session will be an interview with director Reynald Gresset from Reset Content and La Pac. The first day will end with a discussion on image rights in advertising.
The second day will begin with a round table discussion between directors, copywriters and advertisers about how processes can be improved to achieve excellence.
Then, Úrsula García from The Frank Barton Company and Juan Solís from Ilion Animation Studios will talk about constructing characters in the animation industry. They will explore an unfamiliar part of this work which combines expertise in traditional techniques with new technologies, from an artisan perspective.
Following this, the Octocamvisión team will update us on the regulatory framework and new technologies relating to the drone sector.
Bringing the conference to a close, a case study of branded content will be presented: ‘Lucha de Gigantes’ [Struggle of Giants], a project based on an original idea by Emilio Aragón for Action Against Hunger.
This initiative pays tribute to all those giants who fight hunger and seeks to create an awareness-raising movement to put an end to malnutrition once and for all. The project comprises several components: a charity concert at the Teatro Real in Madrid, a charity CD, a mobilisation campaign and a documentary. It was produced by Caribe Estudio, with Iztiar Puga managing the Action Against Hunger project, and directed by Hernán Zin.
The conference is being held for a second year thanks to the dedication of the sponsors, collaborators and speakers, but above all the audience, whose enthusiasm has caused tickets for the event to sell out.
