1909. Miguel, a young school teacher, is stationed at a small mountain village on the border between Spain and Portugal: Lobosandaus, an inhospitable place with ancestral traditions. He is a man of reason, but he cannot control his passionate desires and, as winter approaches, he feels darkness take hold of everything around him as his fascination with the enigmatic Dorinda grows. In a place dominated by superstition, the strange death of a village neighbour releases a free spirit in search of a body that will enable him to continue his existence.
Born in Gijón in 1974. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Oviedo and a diploma in Practical Filmmaking from the Met Film School in London. During her stay in England, she directed short fiction films such as ‘The Fetch’, which was selected for the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2017 she released her first feature, ‘Esquece Monelos’, a non-fiction film that tells the story of an underground river that has become a sewer under the streets of A Coruña, which was nominated for the Feroz Awards in the category of Best Documentary. The film also won three Mestre Mateo awards, as well as a special mention from the DocumentaMadrid 17 jury, among other awards.
