Carmen and Juan live in a sublet room in one of Madrid’s slums. Juan works as an electrician for some film studios, while Carmen makes some extra money by sewing. They are happy, although their dreams about improving their lifestyle and having a house of their own are still unattainable. Suddenly —and thanks to a quiz organized by a commercial brand of soap in which Carmen has taken part— they become ‘The happy married couple’. This means that they will spend a whole day following a pre-established agenda of lavish events: visiting luxury stores, dining at elegant restaurants, going to smart nightclubs...
