Life on a council estate in Brexit London gentrification plans bring an astronomical bill for homeowners and aggravate the community. In the eye of the storm Irina, a Bulgarian single mother, tries to break through as an architect and refuses to live on benefits like most of her neighbours. She galvanizes the homeowners to appeal against the bill with the Council but the English assure her that any attempt to fight the system is doomed. Irinas family and people living on benefits clash over the ownership of a cat.
Mina Mileva graduated in animated film directing from La Cambre, Brussels, and NAFTA, Sofias Film Academy. She worked in the British animation industry for more than a decade. Vesela Kazakova graduated in both acting and producing in Bulgaria. Her main roles in the cinema brought her prestigious prizes for best female actress in Bulgaria and abroad. Together they have directed documentaries like Zaradi Lelia Sneje (2008), Uncle Tony, Three Fools and the Secret Service (2014) and The Beast is Still Alive (2016). Cat in the Wall is their first feature film.
