Afshin and his younger brother Benjamin live on the hillside of the Chil Dokhtaran mountains. Growing up next to a city full of bombs and sirens, violence has become a part of their innocence. When their father leaves for another country, Afshin’s childhood comes to an end. Abbas, on the other hand, is a fearless bus driver. His lengthy attempt to fix his broken-down bus, reveals his way of living between truth and lies.
Born in 1985 in Bamiyan, Afghanistan, and moved to the Netherlands at a young age. He received his B.A. degree in Fine Arts at the Art Academy in Amsterdam. His graduation film KabulTehranKabul (2010) won the Wildcard Award of the Dutch Film Fund. He has continued his study at the London Film School, where he completed his M.A. degree with Angelus Novus (2015) which had its premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. His short fiction film Best Day Ever opened La Quinzaine at Cannes 2018. Aboozar works now in Kabul and Amsterdam. Currently he is developing his first feature film, The Cineaste, which has been selected for Open Doors Locarno and film-bazaar in Goa.
