We travel to the heart of the private and public school systems in two very different
socio-cultural contexts —one in Spain the other one in Africa— in order to create
a space for dialogue where our students have the opportunity to discuss the great
questions of humankind: Who are we? What is thinking? What is truth? What is
love? Hassane, Latifa, Marina, Luna, Irene, Ross, Husein and other children between
ages 5 and 18 teach us that many of our problems can be transformed into new
opportunities; that numerous conflicts can be resolved by genuinely sharing our
views; that classrooms can be the best place to implement decisive changes in a
society that drifts away, torn between globalization and the lack of real proposals to
face the new challenges of the 21st century. This group of children and adolescents
pave the way towards building indestructible bridges into the future.
