SINOPSIS

Billi, born in China and raised in the United States, reluctantly returns to Changchun to discover that the whole family knows that her beloved matriarch, Nai-Nai, has only a few weeks to live and everyone has decided not to tell her. To make sure that she stays happy, they meet under the pretext of a surprise wedding, a joyful even that will reunite the whole family now separated and living in foreign countries. As Billi navigates through a minefield of family expectations and good manners, she finds out that there is much to celebrate: an opportunity to rediscover the country she left behind, her grandmother’s wonderful spirit and the ties that bind people, which sometimes make words unnecessary.
