Seminci celebrates this day with the presentation of the Espigas de Honor to directors Fernando Colomo and Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón, actress Victoria Abril and producer Andrés Vicente Gómez
This Tuesday, 25th October, the Valladolid International Film Week celebrated the Day of Spanish Cinema with the parade down the green carpet at the Teatro Calderón of some of the most representative and well-known faces of Spanish cinema, including the directors Fernando Colomo and Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón, the actress Victoria Abril and the producer Andrés Vicente Gómez, the Espigas of Honour of this 67th edition.
The first to parade down the carpet were the director of the festival, Javier Angulo, the Councillor for Culture and Tourism of Valladolid City Council, Ana Redondo, and the Mayor of the city, Óscar Puente, followed by the four honorees of the day, as well as the people in charge of presenting the awards: writer Manuel Vicent and distributor Enrique González Macho, who presented the award to Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón; actor Karra Elejalde, to Fernando Colomo; producer Antonio Saura and director of photography Jose Luis Alcaine, to Andrés Vicente Gómez and actor Imanol Arias, who presented the award to Victoria Abril.
The actress Mercedes Sampietro, who received this distinction at the last edition of the film festival, also walked the carpet together with the actress Ruth Gabriel and the director of the short film Son, Marta Nieto.
The crew of Vasil, the debut film by the Valencian director Avelina Prat, was in charge of closing the parade. Actors Ivan Barnev, Sue Flack, and the film’s producers Miriam Porté, Mina Mileva and Vasela Kazakova put the finishing touch to the parade, which was followed by the Spain Day Gala, where the awards were presented and both the short film Son and the film Vasil were screened.
