Unicaja Banco renews its sponsorship of SEMINCI in the upcoming 66th edition

  • The banking corporation sustains its commitment to the Valladolid Festival as “silver sponsor” and the traditional ‘red carpet’ will continue to be green instead: the corporate colour of Unicaja Banco.

Unicaja Banco will continue to support the 66th edition of the Valladolid International Film Festival (SEMINCI), following the partnership agreement signed today with Valladolid’s Municipal Foundation for Culture. The agreement involves the renewal of the banking institution’s commitment to provide financial backing to the festival in its capacity as “silver sponsor”.

The agreement was signed by Unicaja’s  Head of Institutional Relations Fernando Ríos and the Councillor for Culture  of Valladolid’s City Council Ana Redondo, in the presence of the city mayor  Óscar Puente, the Valladolid Festival director Javier Angulo  and the local director of Unicaja Banco, Manuel Rubio.

Valladolid’s mayor Óscar Puente expressed the gratitude of the local government to Unicaja Banco for its collaboration with SEMINCI, since the renewal of the banking corporation’s sponsorship is instrumental in producing a new edition of the Valladolid International Film Festival. The head of Valladolid’s City Council furthermore placed this financial backing within the larger context of the city’s support for the cultural and business fabric of the film sector since the beginning of the pandemic.

In turn, Fernando Ríos conveyed his satisfaction over the extension for one more year of the corporation’s partnership with SEMINCI. “Unicaja Banco has always been characterized by its support for all kinds of prestigious cultural initiatives, including film festivals. Specifically, the historical involvement of our organization with the Valladolid Film Festival remains stronger than ever. We trust that this edition, despite the difficulties caused by the pandemic, will be a complete success for Valladolid and for the whole of Castile and León, ” said the director of the bank’s department for Institutional Relations .

The 66th edition of SEMINCI will take place from 23 to 30 October

During the eight-day Festival Unicaja Banco will contribute to the event’s promotion by rolling out SEMINCI’s ” green carpet”, which represents the organization’s corporate colour, walked on by actors, directors and other guests right before the Film Week’s opening and closing galas.

Unicaja Banco has been collaborating for two decades as sponsor of SEMINCI. The commitment to this festival is a reflection of the bank’s close involvement with Valladolid and Castile and Leon, where it provides support for private clients, companies and institutions, as well as for outstanding cultural initiatives.

The 66th edition of SEMINCI, which will run from 23 to 30 October, will screen around 200 films from different nationalities in its Official Section, as well as in its additional slots Meeting Point, Time of History or DOC. España among others.
