10/28/2020.- The program of the 65th Seminci includes a new special screening — filmmaker Juanma Bajo Ulloa’s latest film, Baby. The festival will schedule two showings of the film at the LAVA. The exclusive press showing will take place at 7.15pm on Thursday 29th and the public pass at 7pm on Saturday.

Baby is a psychological thriller about a young, upper-class addict who gives birth in the middle of one of her nervous breakdowns. She does her best to take care of her baby during the first few days. However, when she realizes she is unable to take care of it, she sells her baby to a midwife in the baby trade. Regretting her decision, she will try to get her child back, only to be faced with a horrifying reality.

The Basque filmmaker captures in the film the insufferable competition of a predatory civilization, where artificial paradises offer outlets that are as fast as they are misleading.

After Seminci, Baby will begin to be screened at other international festivals, such as Tallinn (Estonia) and Cairo (Egypt).

The film, which has a female cast starring Rosie Day, Harriet Sansom Harris, Natalia Tena, Charo López and Mafalda Carbonell, will also be screened in Spanish movie theaters before the end of the year.
